Thanks for work on the newsletter!
As a student activist who graduated in ’05 and ’07, I remember Dr.Yamada, Dr. Benitez, and everyone…As a teacher now doing really fun work at an alternative school with at-risk kids here in OC, I’m so grateful for the liberal arts education I got at CSULB….keep up the great work!

Just after I posted my previous comment, I read more of the newsletter and was shocked to see that there is now a Confucius Institute at my alma mater. These CI’s are known to censor topics such as Tibet and Taiwan as well as and human rights abuses in China. “Confucius Institutes function as an arm of the Chinese state” according to American Association of University Professors (AAUP)… http://protectacademicfreedom.org. I urge anyone reading this to look into the matter to ensure that the CI at CSULB is not threatening academic freedom here or abroad!!! BEWARE!
